Choral Clinician

Michael Kemp is an internationally respected choral clinician, conducting more than 300 workshops and festivals over 35 years. He is conductor of the choruses and orchestras of Germantown Academy in Ft. Washington, Pennsylvania, and is a member of the legendary Kemp family of choral musicians. In addition to his conducting responsibilities, he teaches Advanced Placement Music Theory. He was recently awarded the Barness Chair for Distinguished Teaching in the Fine and Performing Arts. He is a Fellow of Melodious Accord and was awarded inclusion in the Marquis Who’s Who in America. Educated at Oklahoma University, Westminster Choir College, and the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, Holland, Michael was trained equally in the areas of voice performance, viola performance, and conducting. In addition to his formal education, he has also studied privately with renowned choral authorities Paul Salamunovitch, Phillip Brunelle, and Alice Parker. Michael has been an internationally respected clinician for 35 years, conducting and lecturing in some 300 workshops and festivals in 42 states and 5 Canadian provinces. He has conducted over 300 masterworks of the standard choral and orchestral repertoire. He is a published composer with Augsburg Publishing and the Choristers Guild.
