This not-to-be-missed concert features choral music by celebrated composer Ola Gjeilo. His music is often described as lush, cinematic, enchanting, captivating, and evocative. Immensely popular to audiences the world over, Gjeilo’s compositions have been sung by choirs such as Voces8, Tenebrae, and the Phoenix Chorale. He is currently composer-in-residence with Distinguished Concerts International New York and Albany Pro Musica.
Ola is joined by the Missouri State Chorale under the direction of Cameron LaBarr. This select choir of approximately 48 voices performs regularly at conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, Missouri Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education, and has toured throughout the United States, Europe, and South Africa.
